Biographical Information
Early Life
A commoner in Romulan society, Tamellia was raised along the Rhynne river. The daughter of a dockhand and a city port trader. In her youth, Tamellia assisted her father with repairs to the vessels along the river and picked up many minor engineering skills vital to her further development. At the age of 14, her father was killed in a hurricane near the port city of Mhiessan leaving her firmly in the care of her mother, a proud former centurion and veteran of the Dominion War who had been honourably discharged back to civilian life.
Whilst Tamellia and her mother had a good relationship, she was very much lost without the guidance of her father, she roamed the night streets of Mhiessan trying to discover herself, finding her way through several street gangs, picking up vital survival and combat skills, including some knowledge of the Tenalri and Kormorek unarmed combat styles.
It was after one such night that Tam met a daughter of one of the nearby noble houses. An unusual and taboo friendship was formed as both Romulans felt they shared an unusual equality not usually found between those of Common and Noble births.
Early Career
Following the Dominion War and Shinzon’s coup, the Romulan Military was left in a weakened state. While the Romulans were a later entry into the war, early losses of Romulan forces had been substantial with many D’Deridex class warbirds being destroyed or simply damaged beyond reasonable repair, most of the Imperial Navy’s forces were focused on rebuilding and Tamellia herself was conscripted on the back of her mother’s service into the Naval forces.
She was assigned to the Praetor’s Warbird T’Tpalok, a member of the 4th Othan Fleet and one of the few original T’Varo classes remaining in service. She was assigned to minor engineering systems; crew support systems, replicators and the like, earning a quick rapport with her senior officers thanks to her duty and dedication. She quickly caught the eye of Subcommander Chavek, the T’Tpalok’s then commander, and on her 19th Birthday was accepted for officer training.
Becoming an Officer
Upon her induction to officer training, Tamellia was despatched to the war college on Devorran, a cold harsh planet with little in the way of vegetation or natural cover from the near constant raging storms on the planet.
Her time in the college saw many endurance tests in the harsh, thin atmosphere, her skills as an unarmed combatant were honed and refined, even learning CH’Vashrek fighting styles to add to her skillset. After three years, her dream of once again serving on a starship was realised aboard the I.R.W. Saneraspis, a Mogai class warbird.
Her graduation’s merriment however was short lived as the Saneraspis was recalled to Romulus in an emergency as the Hobus star began to deteriorate. Whilst en route, the star supernovas and Romulus is lost, Tamellia’s mother is listed as missing before a census of the survivors confirm she perished with Romulus.
